4x5 Pinhole Camera Project
A series of cameras I designed and built.
The focal length of this prototype is around 60mm (very wide) and the aperture is about f 260. It’s made from MDF. No shutter, no glass, no moving parts! This is about the most analog photo. experience someone can have. Pinhole has such a unique look. Because of the extreme aperture, everything is in focus to infinite. But, because the lens is a .3mm laser hole drilled into a metal disc, things aren’t really sharp. This, coupled with long exposures, give it that dreamy somewhat ethereal appearance.
“Look and think before opening the shutter. The heart and mind are the true lens of the camera.”
